Jehanabad (Bihar), Jan 9 A top Maoist leader and five other outfit&aposs cadre accused of Jehanabad jailbreak were arrested today with arms and ammunition at Bhagwanpur Matia village in Bihar&aposs Jehanabad district.
Superintendent of police, Manu Mahraj, said,"The self-styled area commander of Maiosts, Uday Yadav, who was absconding since Jehanabad jailbreak in 2005, was arrested along with two country made carbines and four country made pistols."
Mahraj said Yadav along with other Maoist cadre - Ashok Yadav, Madhusudan Yadav, Ajay Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav and Mahesh Choudhary - were arrested in a raid in the village when police got tip-off about their meeting there.
The police seized two country made carbines, four pistols and 38 live cartridges including the cartridges of SLR and police belts.
According to police, an accused in Jehanabad jail break, Yadav, was absconding since the jail break on November 13, 2005.
Maiosts had freed fellow Naxalites from Jehanabad jail during the jail break. A total of 389 Maiosts had managed to escape from the jail and 60 Maiosts were still absconding.
