Rourkela , Jan 7 A fresh incident of Maoists demanding money from a businessman at Raichhapala on Orissa- Jharkhand border has created panic among traders and common people.
Police said today an ultra group called&apos Jharkhand Badsa&aposhad entered a brick kiln last night and in the absence of its owner ordered the managerto pay Rs 10 lakh within 24 hours.
The group, which had about 8 members armed with pistols, also threatened the man with dire consequences if its demand was not met or the police was informed.
Police said as news of the threat spread panic gripped the area. Several businessmen had earlier left their homes and businesses in the border areas due to repeated threat by Maoists.
Earlier, a person was killed by the ultras at Raibaga after his businessman father ignored a ransom letter by the Maoists.
