Maoists wreak havoc in Bihar

PATNA, Jan. 22: Maoist rebels on day long strike in Bihar, set fire to 11 cement-laden trucks and blasted a mobile tower today. They had called for a strike to protest against police atrocities on its arrested cadres and price rise.
Police sources said heavily-armed Maoists in army outfits intercepted 11 trucks laden with cement bags between Tumba and Ranjeetganj villages under the jurisdiction of Tilauthu police station of Rohtas district this morning and set them on fire. Soon after the incident they fled the spot.
In another incident, the Maoists planted explosives near an Airtel tower at Maigra under the jurisdiction of Dumaria police station in Gaya district and then blasted it. Police have initaiated a move to arrest the rebels. n SNS
