Chaibasa (Jharkhand), Feb 28 Four hardcore Maoists including a"political secretary"were arrested from naxal infested Deruwan village in West Singhbhum district today, a senior police officer said.
Superintendent of Police Sudhir Kumar Jha said a police patrol party intercepted the Maoists, who were on motorcycles.
The arrested Maoists have been identified as - Amrit Hans, Sanjay Besra, Herman Lumga and Sandip. Sandip alias Motilal Soren alias Sujan was a political secretary of the extremist group, the SP said.
Sandip, who joined the ultra outfit in 2000 was wanted by the police in 14 Naxal related cases and was an accused in the landmine blasts cases at Bitkilsoy, Baliva and Karampada.
