Jharkhand Governor calls for strong action to prevent naxal strikes

Ranchi (PTI): Expressing grief over the death of five CRPF jawans in Naxal attack on Saturday, Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi has asked the police top brass to devise strategy for averting such attacks.

At a high-level meeting with Home Secretary J B Tubid, the Director General of Police V D Ram and Governor's Advisory council member T P Sinha, Razi called for chalking out a strategy to forewarn such game plan of the ultras.

The Governor also directed the DGP and other police officials to go to the spot where the encounter had taken place.

The encounter took place hours before Congress president Sonia Gandhi held a poll rally in the district.

The Governor directed the officials to ensure better treatment to the three injured jawans of the para-military forces.
