Orissa CM Naveen Patnaik addresses election rally at Maoist bastion

Report by Orissadiary correspondent; Malkangiri: Orissa Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik call to the electorate to vote for the BJD candidates for a transparent, corruption-free administration in Orissa while addressing an election meeting at Chitrakonda in Naxal-infested Malkangiri district of Southern Orissa on Thursday.
Chief minister Mr Naveen Patnaik assured that pending projects like Vijayawada-Ranchi Highway, Gurupriya bridge over the Janbai river and Motu bridge on the Saberi river would be completed soon after the elections.
Hitting the campaign trail, the BJD supremo addressed election meetings in Malkangiri, Nawarangpur and Koraput districts today. In Malkangiri, he spoke at Chitrakonda and DNK ground today.
Highlighting various schemes initiated by the state government, he said that the projects will continue if his party is voted to power.
Speaking on the occasion, former BJP MLA from Malkangiri and presently a BJD candidate from Jayadev Assembly constituency, Mr Dhali tried to woo the gathering with a few lines in Bengali.
Among others, party’s Malkangiri candidate Mr Mukunda Sodi, Nawarangpur parliamentary seat candidate Mr Damrudhar Majhi spoke on the occasion.
