Blockade threat

OUR CORRESPONDENT
Jamshedpur, June 7: Panic gripped the residents of Chakulia village in East Singhbhum after Police Santrash Pratirodh Samiti (PSPS) declared that they would not allow anyone from Jharkhand to enter Bengal.

The decision, taken by the fledgling Naxalite outfit today at a meeting in Jhargram close to the Jharkhand-Bengal border, is aimed to mount pressure on the Jharkhand police to release the nine suspected Naxalites arrested on May 31. PSPS will block all roads connecting Chakulia, Ghatshila and Dhalbhumgarh with Belpahari in Bengal with trees.

East Singhbhum superintendent of police Naveen Kumar Singh said that there was no question of releasing the nine suspected rebels.
