More than two weeks after key LeT operative Abdul Madani was arrested by Delhi police, police on Friday (June 19) claimed that Madani was trying to establish an LeT link with the Maoists in Jharkhand.

Officers said that the diaries seized from Madani mention the fact that Maoists from Jharkhand should be hired as they are well versed in the use of arms and ammunitions and they should be lured to be trained in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
Police told the court that through Madani they have found that Laskar has established base and contact with Maoists in Jharkhand. Police claimed that the 20,000 dollars that Madni had given to an operative in Patna could have been handed over to the Maoists.
Madani allegedly told the court that he is guilty and wants to go to jail. Madani has now been sent to seven days of police custody. The Delhi police are likely to seek further custody of Madani, one of the accused in connection with 2006 serial train blast case.

It is alleged that he had hired Kamal Ansari who is already under arrest in for his involvement in the 2006 Mumbai train blasts. Karnataka police is also probing Madani for his role in the attack at Indian Institute of Science attack in December 2005.
