CoBRA to take a leaf out of Greyhounds manual

New Delhi, Jul 27 (PTI) The newly formed special anti-naxal commando force CoBRA is borrowing special tactics and operational techniques from Andhra Pradesh's 'Greyhounds'-- touted the best in this domain-- as it prepares for full fledged operations.

This comes in the backdrop of the Ministry of Home Affairs outlining the finalisation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for deployment of CoBRA battalions in the naxal affected states by September 30 under its second Action Plan.

Official sources said the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) is preparing its SOPs, vital for the force to achieve success with minimum casualties on its side, on the lines of anti-naxal force Greyhounds which changes its tactics based on "specific intelligence inputs".

"The Greyhounds has a flexible SOP which is deployed by the combat men based on intelligence inputs on a case-to-case basis.
