Minor girl among two killed in Maoist attack in J'khand

Ranchi, Aug 17 (PTI) Suspected Maoists today fired indiscriminately on a car, killing two persons, including a nine-year-old girl, and injuring three others near Duesiani area in Jharkhand's Ranchi district, police said.

"We found empty cartridges of self-loading rifle from the spot. Maoists only have SLRs in this area, which is a definite indication of the rebels being behind the incident," SP (Rural) Anup T Mathew said.

There were 13 persons in the car when the attack took place. The driver and his assistant were among the injured, he said.

After attacking the car, the Maoists struck a truck, injuring its driver, Mathew said.
