AP team nabs three Maoists in Peenya

Bangalore: A special team attached to the Andhra Pradesh police arrested three Maoists, including the central committee member of the CPI(ML), in Peenya on Wednesday evening.

According to police, the apprehended Maoists were identified as Vishnu alias Devendrappa, hailing from Soraba in Shimoga district, Lakshmi, a senior member of the organisation hailing from Kundapur, and Malavaguppa Asha of Shimoga.

Anti-Naxal Force (ANF) sources said that more than 50 criminal cases were registered against Devendrappa by the Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka police.

A close aide of Saketh Rajan, who was killed in an encounter, he was the mastermind behind many operations carried out against the police.

Sources said that the Maoists were staying in Peenya I Stage to avail medical treatment for the last one month.

After interrogating them in the city, the special team took them to Andhra Pradesh.
