Measures against naxals in place: UP govt

Lucknow, Feb 9 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh government today assured the state assembly that all measures were being taken to check naxal activities which is evident from the latest arrests made by the STF from different parts of the state.

Replying to the adjournment notice moved by Radhey Mohan Agarwal (BJP) on the issue, parliamentary affairs minister Lalji Verma said government was giving special attention to the serious problem of naxalism.

"The intelligence units are being strengthened besides striking a coordination with other states facing naxal problem and it is a result of this that no big naxal strike has taken place since 2004," Verma said.
