Oppn slams govt on rising prices, naxal violence

New Delhi, Mar 3 (PTI) Opposition today slammed the government for its inability to check rising prices, failure to deal with terrorism and naxalism and pursue pragmatic foreign policy.

Participating in the debate on Motion of Thanks to President's address to joint sitting of Parliament, NDA's Working Chairman L K Advani accused the government on having "secret" deliberations with the US to deal with Pakistan.

His "secret talk" remarks evoked sharp reaction from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who intervened on more than two occasions during the 75-minute speech of Advani brushing aside his allegations.

Singh categorically rejected the Advani's criticism on futility of Indo-Pak talks and asserted that there was no pressure from the US.

Besides the foreign policy issues, Advani also expressed concern over the price rise and attacked the UPA for its "inability" to deal with increasing inflation.
