Students clash over meet by pro-Naxal group in JNU

New Delhi, Apr 10 (PTI) Groups of students clashed in JNU campus here over a meeting organised by an alleged pro-Naxal camp to oppose government's operation against Maoists.

JNU Forum Against War On People, a group of like-minded students who are allegedly against Centre's policies towards Naxals, had organised the meeting here last evening. The organisers said the meet was intended to oppose the "Operation Green Hunt" by the government.

Activists of BJP-affiliated ABVP and Congress-backed NSUI protested against holding such a meeting at a time when 76 security personnel had been killed in the worst Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh.

Assistant Dean of Students, Prof Sachidanand Sinha expressed doubts whether organisers of the event were from the campus and said no permission was taken for the meeting.

"They had not taken permission from the administration to organise this meeting.
