PATNA: Three CPI (Maoist) leaders were arrested and about one tonne of explosive materials and 25,000 detonators recovered from their hideout here, officials said on saturday.

Acting on a tip off, a police team headed by the SP (City) Manu Maharaj raided a house in Jakkanpur locality here and held Umesh alias Radheshyam Yadav, Laldas Mochi alias Mukeshji and another person yesterday, SSP B S Meena said.

The duo are wanted in connection with dozens of cases including Jehanabad jail break and mass massacre at Mauri (Paliganj), he said.

Police have recovered one tonne of explosive material, 25,000 detonators, three carbines, five remote control triggers, about 6000 live ammunition, high intensity grenades and 43 magazines from the house, the SSP said.

The other materials seized include timer circuit device, batteries for use in landmine blast, spring and pressure device, equipment used for making hand grenades, landmine and grenade fuse, four walkie-talkies, six mobile phones and cash worth Rs 1.65 lakh.
