The Chhattisgarh Police is planning to intensify anti-Naxalite operations in the coming months, Director General of Police (DGP) D.M. Awasthi said on Friday, and called for breaking the supply chain of Maoists.
This was decided at a meeting of the state-level coordination committee held at the Police Headquarters, an official press release said.
“After the rainy season in the next three months, anti-Naxalite operations will be intensified,” Awasthi was quoted as saying at the meeting.
Officials from the CRPF, BSF, ITBP, IB, IG Bastar and SPs from districts affected by Naxalite violence took part in the meeting.
The DGP instructed the officials to prepare plans for the coming anti-Maoist drive.
He asked officials to speed up the bridge-culvert construction work and to make fool-proof plans before starting any operation in places like Sukma, Dantewada and Bijapur.
Awasthi instructed officials to take strict action against Maoist supporters and break the supply chain of the Naxalites.
“By breaking the chain of ration, medicine and arms supply to Maoists, we can ensure effective action,” he said
