Jhargram: Handwritten Maoist posters have made a comeback to Jhargram’s Bhulabheda area in

Belpahari

, putting the district administration on alert.

Three such posters were found, said Jhargram superintendent of police Amit Kumar Bharat Rathod. Such posters were usual in Jangalmahal before 2009, when Maoists had a strong presence, and were put up to gather local support.

The posters, written in red ink on white paper and bearing the CPI(Maoist) name, warn contractor Sourav Roy to stop road construction. Roy has bagged the work order for constructing 28km of the 40km stretch from Dharsa to Paradi. Roy, who is from Lalgarh, claimed to have no clue about the posters. Roy’s men continued work on Friday.

Police have come to know that miscreants have written to three other traders demanding Rs 2 lakh as security money from each.
