GUNTUR: Finally, a silver lining seems to appear on the dark clouds hovering over the Naxal-infested Palnadu.

As part of the State Government’s plans to wean the people away from the influence of Naxalism, the district administration will shortly undertake developmental works in 58 villages.

District special officer Ramakrishna has conducted several review meetings with the district officials. A survey by the Velugu coordinators is on to ascertain the necessary infrastructural facilities.

Teams of community coordinators will ascertain the number of families, unemployees and other basic facilities, he said.

The survey report would be sent to Nabard for securing the necessary funding, he said.

Presently as much as Rs 25 crores were being released by the Remote Interior Area Development to various departments. The district administration has plans to secure Rs 35 crore more.
