Village Headman slain; 39 ultras surrender

Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh: Naxals have slain a village headman at Bastar division's Nukanpal, even as 39 sangham members, including eight women, surrendered at Jangla Police Station.

Last night, the rebels targeted Vaman Kudiyam who was spreading awareness for initiating the anti-naxal campaign 'Salwa Judum' in this area as well.

Two bombs, weighing 10 kg each, were seized yesterday by a patrol along the Bhairamgarh-Bijapur national highway.
