Orissa Police starts search of Maoists in Nayaranpatna

Policemen making a search in Naxal-affected area exchanged fire with Ghenuabahini of Nayaran Patna, which is a supporter organisation of Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh on Monday. Ghenua Bahini people fired 7 round fore to the Police while the Police fired 3 round.

However there is no information regarding any death or injury.The Police SDPO of Laxmipur Y.Jasgannath Rao,IIC of Narayanpatna Jagabandhu Sahoo and Semeliguda IIC S.K.Sahu accompanied with 3 Battalians of Armed forces moving to Khelua village .While they were going in the forest road of Narikhelua village the Ghenua Bahini people fired 7 round to the Police. Police immediately fired 3 round . After exchange of firing, the Police able to nab 7 persons and seize Guns from them.

On the other hand In connection with the Narayanpatna Police station attack, the Police has nabbed 18 persons . They were forwarded to Laxmipur Court. Their bail has been rejected and they are sent to jail.The total arrest in this case is reached at 29.All are now in jail.
Some persons opened fire on a police team, which was conducting search operation in Narayanpatna area," Koraput Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar said.

The incident involving exchange of fire between Maoist-backed 'Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangha', comes three days after two members of the Sangha were killed, when police opened fire to prevent them from looting arms from a police station in Narayanpatna on November 20.
