Six Maoists killed

At least six Maoists were gunned down in an encounter with CRPF jawans in West Midnapore district of West Bengal on Monday morning.

According to the sources, huge cache of arms and ammunitions were seized from the slain naxals. Encounter between CRPF and Naxals are still on.

The clash began at 3 a.m. in a forest in Goaltore area and was still on, a police officer said, adding that bodies of all the six Maoists have been recovered and sent for the post-mortem.

A trooper of the elite Commando Batallion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) of the Central Reserve Police Force was seriously injured in the gun battle. He is being shifted to Kolkata for treatment.

Earlier, gunbattle with naxals concluded after 20 hours in Jharkhand and security forces aere combing the forests.
